Jonatan Pinkse

Jonatan Pinkse is a Professor of strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR), part of Alliance Manchester Business School at The University of Manchester. Previously, he held positions at the Universiteit van Amsterdam and Grenoble Ecole de Management. His expertise spans corporate sustainability, business model innovation, and cross-sector partnerships, with a focus on strategic adaptation to sustainability transitions. He is deputy editor at Organization & Environment and a past chair of the ONE division of the Academy of Management.

Research interests include analyzing firm strategies for sustainable economic adaptation, barriers to disruptive technology adoption, and governance of digital platforms. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and responsible consumption. Pinkse has authored over 50 articles in top journals and co-edited key texts in strategy and management. Recent research explores hybrid governance of digital platforms and policy mixes for sustainability transitions.
