Jonah Corne is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Film Studies Program at the University of Manitoba, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and the Department of English, Theatre, Film & Media. His research spans global cinema, experimental film, and intersections with modernist literature, media theory, and Jewish studies.

Corne’s scholarship includes a co-authored book, Yiddish Cinema: The Drama of Troubled Communication, and articles analyzing filmmakers like Michel Chion and Hirokazu Kore-eda. His current project examines mysticism in contemporary cinema, reflecting his focus on philosophical and interdisciplinary approaches to media.
His recent publications traverse themes such as surveillance aesthetics, memory in film, and urban modernity, often blending theoretical rigor with close readings of cinematic works. He teaches courses ranging from film history to experimental cinema and surveillance studies.
