Jonah Blasiak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Drexel University. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley (2009) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago (2009–2010) and University of Michigan (2010–2013). His research focuses on algebraic combinatorics, representation theory, complexity theory, and graph theory. Blasiak has taught courses such as Abstract Algebra, Combinatorics, Discrete Mathematics, and Linear Algebra at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research Interests: Blasiak's work centers on algebraic structures like Catalan functions, Kronecker coefficients, and Schur positivity, with applications to representation theory and complexity theory. He has contributed to geometric complexity theory and quantum group structures.
His NSF-funded research (2012) explored quantizing Schur functors. Blasiak has published extensively in top-tier journals including Advances in Mathematics and Journal of the American Mathematical Society. His teaching emphasizes foundational topics such as rings, modules, and representation theory in graduate courses.
Blasiak's academic journey includes a visiting professorship at University of Southern California (2013–2014). He maintains an active research program with a focus on combinatorial algebra and its intersections with geometry and complexity theory.
