Dr. Jon Romano serves as Assistant Dean of Clinical Programs and Assistant Professor of Exotics & Zoological Medicine within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Long Island University's Lewyt College of Veterinary Medicine. He directs clinical training programs while teaching specialized courses in exotics and lab animal medicine, preparing veterinary students for diverse clinical careers.

- Specialty Internship in Avian/Exotics Medicine at Colorado State University
Dr. Romano's research examines species-specific medical challenges across exotic taxa, with recent publications addressing macropod pediatrics, avian anesthesia protocols, hornbill hematology, and rabbit gastrointestinal disorders.
