Jon Nordby is a Lecturer at the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, where he is affiliated with the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship and the Department of Management & Leadership. Drawing from over a decade of global startup mentorship and leadership in innovation ecosystems, he brings real-world entrepreneurial expertise into the classroom.
His research and professional interests center on entrepreneurship and innovation, with a focus on business model validation, lean startup methodology, problem-solution and product-market fit, and decision-making behavior. He also explores emerging domains such as human potential, space commercialization, and autonomous systems, applying these to startup growth and ecosystem development.
Jon actively contributes to innovation economies through advisory and leadership roles. He is General Partner at Anthropy Partners, an early-stage venture fund, and founder of EconWerx, a consultancy supporting governments, universities, and corporations in building differentiated innovation ecosystems. Previously, he led strategy and value creation at MassChallenge, a global nonprofit startup accelerator.
He has mentored over 500 startups worldwide and has launched multiple initiatives including nonprofit organizations, corporate fund-of-funds, and accelerator programs. His work emphasizes community building, talent development, and scalable infrastructure for startup success.
Jon teaches courses that integrate his extensive field experience, focusing on practical frameworks for early-stage ventures. Although no peer-reviewed publications or formal awards are listed, his impact is reflected in his broad influence across global entrepreneurial communities.
