Jon Lampa is an Adjunct Professor of Rheumatology at the Faculty of Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, and a Consultant/Clinical Manager at Karolinska University Hospital. His research focuses on chronic rheumatic pain, inflammatory mechanisms, and biomarker discovery in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and fibromyalgia.
Lampa's work integrates clinical studies, biomarker analysis (blood and cerebrospinal fluid), and neuroimaging (fMRI, PET) to explore pain pathophysiology and treatment responses. He leads a Nordic-European project on pain and fatigue in early RA.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to understanding anti-TNF therapy, obesity as a treatment barrier, and neuroimmune interactions in RA. His studies often involve collaborations across Swedish and European institutions.
