معرفی
Lars Klareskog is a Senior Professor of Rheumatology at the Department of Medicine, Solna, Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), particularly autoimmunity mechanisms, genetic and environmental risk factors, and the role of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA). He leads the Autoimmunity and adaptive immunity in rheumatic disease research group under Vivianne Malmström.
- Key areas: RA development, ACPA biology, HLA associations, and environmental triggers like smoking and occupational exposures.
- Contributions include identifying risk genes, elucidating lung involvement in RA onset, and studying antibody-mediated pathologies.
- Involved in large cohort studies (e.g., EIRA) and clinical trials evaluating treatments like abatacept and methotrexate.
Publications span immunology, genomics, and translational research, emphasizing precision medicine and disease prevention.
