Jon Ivan Gill is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Gustavus Adolphus College, specializing in interdisciplinary intersections of philosophy, religious studies, and cultural theory. His work bridges Afrofuturism, Hip-Hop, and poststructuralist critiques of race and religion.
His research explores philosophy of race, process philosophies, theopoetics, and decolonial frameworks, with a focus on applying Hip-Hop aesthetics to philosophical and theological inquiry. He has authored and edited publications examining these themes, including a forthcoming monograph on reimagining race through process thought.

His teaching emphasizes innovative, transformative approaches through courses on Battle Rap Philosophy, Afrofuturism, and Atheism.
