Jon A. Lehrmann

Jon A. Lehrmann, MD, is the Charles E. Kubly Chair in Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine and Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He serves as the Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Dr. Lehrmann graduated from MCW and completed his psychiatry residency there. His academic focus includes resident/medical student education, feedback mechanisms, resident recruitment, conflict resolution, and Veteran Mental Health. He previously served as President of the Association for Academic Psychiatry and has held roles such as Training Director.

Dr. Lehrmann has received prestigious awards including the Golden Apple Faculty Teaching Award (three times), the Department's Distinguished Service Award (2008, 2009), and the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey’s Humanism in Medicine Award (2000). His publications emphasize strategies for under-resourced academic departments, rural psychiatric residency development, and improving mental health access through systemic approaches.
