John V. Mutlow

John V. Mutlow, FAIA, is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Southern California (USC School of Architecture), where he has held roles such as Chair of Graduate Studies (2008-2012) and Director of the Advanced Undergraduate Program (1991-1994). His work focuses on affordable housing and socially responsible architecture for economically disadvantaged communities. He practices architecture in Los Angeles, specializing in affordable housing projects with social considerations. Notable projects include Fiesta House (2005), Cabrillo Farm Worker Village (1982), and international work in the Philippines. He has received numerous awards, including Residential Architect's 'Making a Difference' recognition (2006) and Time Magazine's 'Ten Best Designs' (1982). Currently teaches 527 Case Studies: The Development of Urban Housing, exploring housing development processes in Southern California.
