John Toohey

John Toohey is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance at the Alvarez College of Business, University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Williams College and is a CFA Charterholder and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. With 33 years in financial services, his expertise spans equity portfolio management, pension fund leadership, and actuarial work. He currently leads Fundamental Research at Two Centuries Investments and previously managed $7.5B in AUM at USAA Investments.

Research focuses on equity/debt analysis, asset allocation, hedge funds, and macroeconomics. He contributes to financial education through teaching Debt Markets and Principles of Investments. Publications include actuarial analysis in the Journal of Actuarial Practice.

Professional service includes leadership roles at St. Luke's Lutheran Health Ministries (Audit Committee Chair) and media appearances on Bloomberg, CNBC, and Fox Business.
