John Schaubroeck is a Professor of Management and holds the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. Chair at the University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske Sr. College of Business. He teaches organizational behavior and human resource management, focusing on leadership development, leader-follower relationships, negotiation, and employee stress/well-being. His research spans over 80 refereed articles and editorial leadership roles at top journals like Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Applied Psychology.
Education: Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Purdue University (1988); B.B. in Management from Western Illinois University (1984).
Research interests emphasize understanding psychological processes in leadership, work stress, and employee well-being. Recent work explores mentor-protégé dynamics, social loafing in teams, and the impact of unethical behavior in polluted environments. He has contributed to theories on abusive supervision, ethical leadership, and workgroup climate.
Editorial roles include Senior Editor of the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies and editorial board positions at seven journals. His work bridges theoretical insights with practical implications for organizational management and human resource practices.
