John Sandell

John Sandell is an Associate Professor at Florida Atlantic University's School of Architecture, teaching design and theory. His practice explores the interaction of natural, human, and built environments, with projects spanning furniture, private residences, housing, and urban spaces across Italy, Switzerland, Texas, Florida, and Oregon.

His research focuses on Venetian Landscapes, Public Furniture, and architectural representation through the Insulae Series. Sandell received architecture degrees from California Polytechnic State University (BS), Cranbrook Academy of Art (MArch), and Polytechnic of Milan (Laurea). He has taught at institutions in Milan, Portland, Oregon, and Florence, and directs FAU's study abroad program in Venice.
