Professor John Rogan is a faculty member in the Department of Geography at Clark University. With a Ph.D. from San Diego State University/University of California, Santa Barbara (2004), M.A. (1998), and B.A. (1996) in Geography from the University of Arizona, his work bridges landscape ecology, urban forestry, fire ecology, and GIScience. He focuses on remote sensing applications for urban heat island dynamics, wildfire impacts, and socio-environmental governance.
- Ph.D., Geography, San Diego State University/University of California, Santa Barbara (2004)

His research explores: landscape ecology through remote sensing; urban forestry in post-industrial cities; fire ecology in western U.S. forests; and GIScience for environmental policy analysis. Recent projects examine extractive industries in Honduras, urban heat island mitigation in Massachusetts Gateway Cities, and energy justice through citizen science.
Article trends reveal expertise in multi-scaled ecological assessment, wildfire severity mapping, urban canopy dynamics, and spatiotemporal deforestation analysis using Landsat and MODIS data. Collaborative work spans institutions like UMass Clean Energy Extension and Oxfam America.
