معرفی
John Reader is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the protein translation apparatus, particularly aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (aaRSs) and tRNAs, exploring their non-canonical roles in biological processes.
- Education: BSc (Hons), DPhil.
His work investigates how aaRSs have evolved beyond their traditional role in protein synthesis to influence angiogenesis, antibiotic development, and cardiovascular disease mechanisms. Publications highlight studies on mini-TyrRS-induced angiogenesis, agrocin 84's antibiotic potential, and mechanical regulation of translation machinery.
Collaborations with Dr. Ellie Tzima examine the molecular basis of angiogenesis. Research trends emphasize translational applications for peripheral vascular disease therapeutics and novel anti-infectives targeting bacterial aaRSs.
