Dr. John Puxty is Associate Professor and Chair of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Queen's University. As Director of the Centre for Studies in Aging and Health at Providence Care, he leads specialized geriatric services and integrated memory disorder clinics. He is certified in geriatric medicine in both Canada and the UK.
His research examines frailty, cognitive disorders, and age-friendly community design. Dr. Puxty has edited two academic books and published extensively on eldercare service models. He promotes technology-enabled knowledge translation strategies for aging research and develops distance-education resources for geriatric training.
Dr. Puxty chairs the Ontario Interdisciplinary Council for Aging and Health, influencing provincial policy on senior care. His clinical practice focuses on complex geriatric assessment and dementia care coordination.
