John Pracejus is an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta's Alberta School of Business, specializing in the department of Marketing, Business Economics, and Law. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Florida and an M.A. in Communications from the University of Illinois. His research focuses on consumer emotional responses to marketing, visual communications, brand associations (e.g., celebrities, charities), and retail strategies. He has taught at universities globally, including in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, Russia, and the U.S.
Research interests include Retailing, Branding, Visual Communication, Consumer Emotion, and Charity Marketing. His work bridges theoretical insights with practical applications, such as customized advertising and fair trade pricing dynamics. He has published in top journals like the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Advertising.
Teaching includes graduate courses on Consumer Information Processing, Judgment & Decision Making, Brand Strategy (MBA), and undergraduate courses in Consumer Behavior and International Marketing. He has contributed to professional service as a reviewer for major marketing journals.
