John Michael Scull is a Lecturer in Management with over two decades of experience as a venture capital investor. He currently serves as a co-founding Managing Director of Southern Cross Venture Partners (SCVP) and an Investment Committee Member at Blackbird Ventures. SCVP focuses on renewable energy and cleantech investments with global offices in Palo Alto, Sydney, and Shanghai. His professional experience includes leadership roles as CEO of Macromind (acquired by Adobe) and PF.Magic (acquired by The Learning Company), alongside marketing executive roles at Apple during the launch of the Macintosh and desktop publishing initiatives.
Scull holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1981) and a BBA in Economics from the University of Oklahoma (1978). His teaching focuses on entrepreneurship, including courses like Startup Garage: Design and Ecopreneurship: Pioneering Sustainability Ventures. Born and raised in Indonesia and Singapore, he maintains active involvement in venture capital advisory and board roles across private and public companies.
