John Maduro

Dr. John Maduro is a Radiation Oncologist at the Faculty of Medical Sciences/UMCG, University of Groningen, with a focus on breast cancer, pediatric oncology, and proton therapy. He contributes to national and international guidelines, including breast cancer radiotherapy protocols and pediatric radiation safety standards.

Recent studies include developing prediction models for radiation-induced contrast enhancement and assessing nationwide trends in DCIS radiotherapy. He has received recognition, including the 2020 Best of ASTRO abstract designation. In 2022, he collaborated with IBA on FLASH therapy protocols for breast cancer, and in 2024, he contributed to the HARMONIC-RT European registry to evaluate long-term outcomes in pediatric radiotherapy.
