John Madara

John Madara, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine, specializing in Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine. He serves as Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. His academic background includes an MD from Temple University (2013) and a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care at Thomas Jefferson University (2019).

Research focuses on ICU outcomes, post-intensive care syndrome, and medical education innovation. Key areas include evaluating BMI impacts on COVID-19 outcomes, multidrug-resistant infections in sepsis patients, and communication skills training for fellows. He has contributed to 7 peer-reviewed articles since 2012.

Recipient of the 2023 Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching. Active in clinical care, teaching, and translational research at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
