John List is the Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor in Economics and the College at the University of Chicago, where he has been since 2005. He holds editorial roles at prestigious journals including the Journal of Political Economy and Journal of Economic Perspectives, and serves as an associate editor for the American Economic Review and Journal of Economic Literature. A Fellow of The Econometric Society (2015) and recipient of the Kenneth Galbraith Award (2010), his work focuses on experimental economics, field experiments, education, and charity economics. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wyoming in 1996.
List's research spans education policy, charitable giving, environmental economics, and labor markets, often employing innovative field experiments.
