John Joseph Gallagher is an Honorary Lecturer in the School of English at the University of St Andrews and serves as Assistant Editor of Fontes Anglo-Saxonici, a comprehensive database of sources for Old English and Anglo-Latin literature. He revitalized the database in 2020 and continues to expand its content.

His research focuses on biblical translation, textual criticism, and literary adaptation in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, particularly in Gothic, Latin, Old English, and Old Norse-Icelandic textual cultures. He also explores computus, medieval hermeneutics, liturgy, and digital humanities.
Publication Trends: Gallagher’s recent work centers on biblical studies, textual analysis, and interdisciplinary approaches to medieval literature, with a focus on Bede, the Old English Martyrology, and the Gothic Bible.
