Dr. John Jewell is a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the School of Journalism, Media and Culture, Cardiff University. He holds a BA, MSc, and PhD from Cardiff. His research focuses on refugee representation in media, history of popular press, and political communication.
Education: BA, MSc, and PhD from Cardiff University. Professional roles include media columnist for the Western Mail and The Conversation, and frequent contributor to the School's blog. He has also served as a media commentator on UK elections and societal issues.
Research Interests: Asylum seekers in media, propaganda, advertising, Welsh media, and the evolution of news media. His work critiques media ethics, political bias, and historical press practices.
