Dr. John Hill is a Professor of Economics at Hardin-Simmons University (HSU), affiliated with the Kelley College of Business and Professional Studies. He joined HSU in 1998 and holds a BBA in Economics from Baylor University (1987), an MBA in Economics from Texas Christian University (1994), and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tennessee (1995). Prior to HSU, he served as an Assistant Professor at Northeastern State University and a Visiting Professor at the University of Tennessee. Beyond academia, Dr. Hill is a real estate broker and co-owner of Barnett & Hill Real Estate, specializing in multifamily and commercial properties in Abilene, TX. He actively engages with students by employing them in his brokerage. Community involvement includes roles as a trustee at the University of the South at Sewanee, a volunteer at Breakfast on Beech Street, and an usher at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal.
