John Hendrix is the Kenneth E. Hudson Professor of Art and founding chair of the MFA in Illustration & Visual Culture program at Washington University in St. Louis’s Sam Fox School. His work bridges historical biography, religious themes, and graphic novels, with notable books like The Mythmakers (2024) and The Faithful Spy (2018). He teaches illustration and visual culture, emphasizing creativity and ethical storytelling.
Award-winning illustrator, Hendrix’s art appears in New Yorker, National Geographic, and major book jackets.
