John Hayes

John Hayes is a Professor of Marketing and Journalism at Palm Beach Atlantic University since 2017. His primary affiliation is with the Marshall E. Rinker, Sr. School of Business, focusing on Management, Marketing, and International Business.

• PhD in History from Temple University
• MA and BA in Journalism from Kent State University

Dr. Hayes is a renowned expert in franchising with over 40 years of experience as a franchisee, franchisor, and advisor. He authored Franchising: The Inside Story and 12 other franchising-related books, alongside popular works like Philadelphia in Color and James A. Michener: A Biography. He created a franchise curriculum for PBA in 2016, supported by a $1.5-million endowment from Ray Titus, founder of United Franchise Group, to establish the Titus Center for Franchising. This center has trained over 50 graduates who now work as franchise professionals.
