John H. Gerdes Jr.

Dr John H. Gerdes Jr. is Professor and IIT Graduate Director in the Department of Integrated Information Technology at the University of South Carolina's Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing. His research spans web-based data mining, knowledge management, and cybersecurity protocols.

He teaches software development, database management, and web systems design. Current projects include virtual training environments for networking technicians and privacy-preserving certificate systems. He holds U.S. patents in temperature measurement and cryptographic certificates.
