John Graham is an Associate Professor and Chair of Printmaking/Digital Media at the University of Saskatchewan, where he has taught since 2013. His educational background includes a Master of Fine Art (University of Oregon, 1999), Bachelor of Fine Art (Concordia University, 1994), Master of Architecture (University of Manitoba, 1986), and Bachelor of Environmental Studies (University of Manitoba, 1983).
- Research Interests: Safer Printmaking, Multi-disciplinary Art, Mythological Storytelling, Dream Aesthetics, Visual Poetics, and Short Experimental Films.
His artistic practice spans print media, painting, drawing, installations, and experimental films, focusing on subconscious symbolism and metaphorical relationships. His films like Unfold (2019) and Being (2018) have been screened at over 180 festivals globally, reflecting his commitment to surreal narratives and psychological exploration.
- Scientific Awards: Best Experimental Film (2018, Changing Face International Film Festival), Best Experimental Film (2017, Toronto Film Week), Honorable Mention (2021, Voix Visuelle Artist Centre).
John actively supervises MFA and BFA students in printmaking, painting, and drawing, blending his architectural background with contemporary art. His work is held in prestigious collections such as the Art Gallery of Ontario and National Film Board of Canada.
