John Garcia

John Garcia is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Management at California Lutheran University, joining in Fall 2021. He teaches graduate and undergraduate finance and analytics courses while leveraging 21 years of executive experience from Toyota and Ernst & Young.

His educational background includes:

• Doctorate in Business Administration (Finance and Analytics concentration) from Creighton University
• Master's in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University
• Master's in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Cal Poly, SLO

Research focuses on the intersection of behavioral finance, corporate finance, and machine learning, with expertise spanning Financial Analysis, Financial Distress, Data Mining, Business Analytics, FinTech, and AI. His publications appear in journals including Global Finance Journal and Machine Learning with Applications.
