Dr. John Sneed is a Professor of Accounting at Jacksonville State University's College of Business and Industry, affiliated with the Department of Finance, Economics & Accounting. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Master's in Accounting from the University of Alabama, an MBA from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a BS in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance) from the same institution. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) with prior industry experience as a corporate accountant.
His research focuses on:
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Taxation systems and compliance
- Government accounting standards
- Corporate finance applications
- Business administration frameworks
Dr. Sneed teaches courses including Principles of Accounting, Financial Accounting (multiple levels), Income Tax, Advanced Income Tax, Operations Management, and Accounting Information Analysis. He serves as Academic Advisor for accounting students and sits on the Graduate Assurance of Learning Committee.
