Dr. John Ference is an Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), College of Dental Medicine, where he serves as Digital Residency Director. His work focuses on integrating digital tools, additive/subtractive manufacturing, and artificial intelligence into dental education to enhance prosthetic fabrication and patient care.

As a combat veteran with 38+ years in the military, he combines leadership experience with a commitment to community outreach through Charleston’s Navigation Center, providing dental care to unhoused populations.
