Banu Karayazgan

Banu Karayazgan, DDS PhD, is a Professor of Prosthodontics at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. Her expertise lies in maxillofacial prosthetics, dental implants, and craniofacial reconstruction. She holds a DDS from Istanbul University (1997) and completed a residency in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at the same institution in 2005.

Her research focuses on implant-retained prostheses, oral rehabilitation techniques, and advanced materials like zirconia and maxillofacial silicones. Key studies include the application of CAD-CAM systems in prosthetic fabrication and the impact of radiotherapy on implant stability.
