Professor Evans has made significant contributions to understanding crystal structures and their dynamic properties. His recent work explores polymorphism in molecular ferroelectrics, oxygen exchange mechanisms in hydrogen production, and structural engineering of multifunctional materials.
His 1851 Fellowship at Oxford laid the foundation for his career in materials chemistry. Current supervisees include George Marshall, Oliver Wagstaff, and Talia Pryce. Collaborative projects span from neutron diffraction studies to catalytic materials development.
