Dr. John Estes is a Professor and Dean of the School of Science and Mathematics at Belhaven University, where he has served since 2012. He holds the Yearger Chair of Mathematics and Computer Science and directs Engineering Partnerships. His academic leadership spans curriculum development, student research mentorship, and community engagement.

Dr. Estes specializes in Graph Theory, with applications in Mathematical Modeling, Environmental Science, and STEM Pedagogy. His research includes structural analysis of k-trees, independence polynomials, and interdisciplinary projects like studying water flow at the Jackson Zoo. Recent publications focus on extremal graph theory and civic engagement in science education.
