Dr. Roger Parrott serves as President of Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi since 1996. He is one of America's most experienced university presidents and a third-generation college president who was elected at age 34 as one of America's youngest college presidents.
- Education: B.A. from Eastern Nazarene College, M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from University of Maryland
- Board Leadership: Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, Mission America Coalition, Council for Christian Colleges and Universities
- Institutional Recognition: Led Belhaven to be named 'Best University to Work For' by Chronicle of Higher Education (2021)
Dr. Parrott's research focuses on leadership paradigms that emphasize opportunity recognition over traditional strategic planning, particularly from a Christian worldview perspective. His work bridges organizational leadership theory with practical ministry applications, emphasizing faith-based decision-making in complex environments. He has developed frameworks for 'Opportunity Leadership' that challenge conventional planning methodologies while maintaining organizational mission focus.
His leadership has established Belhaven University as distinctive in the Arts, becoming one of only 36 schools worldwide accredited in all four primary arts disciplines (Theatre, Music, Visual Art, and Dance).
