John Eckstein is an Adjunct Professor of Cello at the University of Utah School of Music and a cellist in the Utah Symphony. He has served in various adjunct roles at the university since 1991, including Adjunct Assistant Professor (1991-2001) and Adjunct Associate Professor (2001-2009), and remains actively engaged in teaching private lessons. His career spans orchestral performances with the Utah Symphony, soloist appearances (e.g., Brahms Double Concerto), and chamber music collaborations.

Mr. Eckstein co-founded the Haitian Orchestra Institute in 2016, providing professional training for Haitian musicians. He has taught hundreds of orchestral performances annually and organized masterclasses with renowned cellists like Steven Doane to elevate student standards.
His teaching activities include private cello lessons for majors and non-majors across multiple semesters (2023-2024), as well as senior recital guidance.
