Dr. John E. Cech serves as President of Carroll College, a Catholic Diocesan Liberal Arts College in Montana, since June 2018. With a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, he brings over 30 years of experience in academic leadership, program expansion, and stakeholder collaboration in higher education.
His educational attainment includes:

Dr. Cech's leadership focuses on advancing education in STEM fields, health professions, anthrozoology, and the liberal arts. He spearheaded the Healthcare Professions Initiative, launching a Master of Social Work program, accelerated nursing tracks, and a state-of-the-art nursing simulation center, with plans for a rural-focused physician assistant program. His vision integrates Catholic Social Justice principles into academic expansion.
Under his presidency, Carroll College completed major infrastructure projects including the Anthrozoology Canine Center and Simperman Learning Commons renovation. He founded the Global Student Refugee initiative, funded by major donations, supporting 12 displaced students from Ukraine and Ethiopia.
Dr. Cech chairs the Frontier Athletic Conference and serves on the NAIA Council of Presidents' Executive Committee, driving conference expansion while enhancing athletic facilities with new turf and lighting systems.
