John De Santis is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Graphic Design Department at Pratt Institute's School of Art. He teaches courses in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Typography, and Design History at Pratt, The New School/Parsons, City University of New York, and St John’s University.

His research and professional practice focuses on Graphic Design, Communication Design, and Typography, with a specialization in Open Education Resources (OER), AR/VR educational tools, and cross-disciplinary creative marketing campaigns. He has developed cultural/educational programs for corporate and international governmental clients.
With over 20 years of New York City-based experience, he has served as Art Director at Scientific American, Architectural Record, and the United Nations. His expertise spans digital design, branding, illustration, editorial publishing, and creative direction for global initiatives.
