Dr. John D. Hazle is a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Imaging Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, with joint appointments in Radiation Physics and Radiology. He also serves as Deputy Division Head for Research in the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and holds affiliations with the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Rice University's Keck Center.
His research focuses on image-guided therapy, small animal imaging, novel cancer imaging detection technologies, and imaging data science. He has directed the NCI-funded Small Animal Imaging Facility since 2001, contributing significantly to preclinical cancer research.
Dr. Hazle has received numerous accolades, including the President's Award for Faculty Excellence in 2014, and is a distinguished Fellow of AAPM, ACR, and AIMBE. He previously served as President of both AAPM and CAMPEP, demonstrating national leadership in medical physics education and standards.

He is actively involved in advancing medical physics through leadership, research, and education, with strong collaborative ties across institutions and disciplines in oncology and biomedical imaging.
