John Corba is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame, part of the College of Arts and Letters. He holds a B.S. in TV/Radio/Film Production from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School and an M.F.A. in Cinematic Arts from DePaul University. With over 30 years of industry experience, he has worked as a Producer, Director, Production Designer, and Art Director across feature films, television, commercials, and branded content. He currently serves as an Associate Producer for ND Studios and previously managed DePaul Cinespace Studios, a 35,000 sq. ft. professional soundstage facility.

His expertise spans production design, art direction, and on-set collaboration, with credits including TV shows like Chicago Fire, Shameless, and Empire. He emphasizes hands-on production training and industry partnerships. Beyond academia, he produced a short film with ND alum Christine Swanson and remains active in professional filmmaking.
John’s work bridges educational and commercial media production, focusing on practical skills and industry-relevant training. He contributes to ND Studios’ projects and maintains ties to Chicago’s film community through his past leadership roles.
