John Buolamwini serves as Professor and Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Rosalind Franklin University's College of Pharmacy. With 26 years of academic experience, he previously held faculty positions at the University of Mississippi and University of Tennessee, where he served as Vice Chair and Director of Graduate Programs (2012-2014).
His research specializes in drug design and discovery for cardiovascular disease, cancer, and HIV/AIDS, leading to multiple patents for novel bioactive molecules. Dr. Buolamwini employs integrated computational and experimental methodologies to develop experimental therapeutics, with particular expertise in nucleoside transporters, cancer biomarkers, and MDM2 inhibitors for oncology applications.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals sustained contributions to pancreatic and breast cancer therapeutics through MDM2 inhibition, alongside significant work in HIV integrase inhibitor development.
