John Asher Johnson is a Professor of Astronomy at Harvard University, affiliated with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. His research focuses on detecting and characterizing exoplanets through advanced observational techniques. He leads the BICEP and Keck Array telescope programs at the South Pole, designed to study cosmic microwave background polarization and inflationary signatures.
Education includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Astronomy from UC Berkeley, and a B.S. in Physics from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Research interests center on developing instrumentation for precision measurements of planetary systems and cosmic phenomena. His work bridges astrophysics, instrumentation development, and cosmological theory.
