John Arnold is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University, affiliated with the School of Languages, Literature, Cultures and Linguistics. He has held leadership roles including former Director of the National Centre for Australian Studies (NCAS) and Head of the School of Political and Social Inquiry (2001–2004). His teaching focuses on Australian Studies, Media Ethics, and academic research methodologies. He supervises Masters and Doctoral theses and teaches courses like Com 4001/5001: Researching and Writing Australia and Com 4008: Media Ethics and Practice.
Research interests center on Australian literary and cultural studies, digital humanities infrastructure, and the history of popular fiction.
