Johannes Meixner

Johannes Meixner is a Research Fellow at Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane, serving as Research Coordinator for the Nerves/Psyche division in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. Affiliated with IAG Heart & Brain and ZAF-BB, he joined MHB in October 2020. His research bridges neuroscience, psychology, and translational medicine.

Research Focus: Meixner investigates EEG biomarkers, gut microbiome-brain interactions, executive functions, and aging pathologies like Alzheimer's. His work employs advanced neurophysiological methods including eye-tracking and longitudinal analysis, with applications in educational psychology and neuromarketing.

Teaching & Supervision: He mentors students through research internships and thesis projects, emphasizing empirical methodology and open science principles.
