Johannes Jobst is a guest researcher at Leiden University affiliated with the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION). He leads the Van der Molen lab and specializes in low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM) for studying charge transport in two-dimensional materials like Van der Waals systems and molecular semiconductors. His work focuses on non-invasive, high-resolution imaging of electronic potentials and transport phenomena.

Jobst's research employs LEEM-based potentiometry (LEEP) to analyze local variations in workfunction and Schottky contacts, enabling real-time nanoscale insights into material properties. His recent publications highlight advancements in mirror-mode transition techniques, graphene synthesis, and semiconductor characterization. He actively supports Bachelor and Master projects and collaborates on PhD/postdoc fellowship applications.
