Johanne Collin is a Full Professor in the Department of Management, Evaluation and Health Policy at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Pharmacy. She directs the Médicament comme Objet Social (MÉOS) research group, examining pharmaceutical sociology, mental health, and aging through qualitative and historical lenses.
Her funded projects analyze psychedelic substance use, cognitive enhancement in workplaces, and end-of-life pharmaceutical practices. Collin has supervised 18+ graduate theses on topics ranging from depression stigma to pharmacogenetic policy.
Teaching includes courses on medication as a social object and cross-disciplinary health perspectives, emphasizing community-engaged learning. Research grants from CIHR, FRQS, and SSHRC support her work on pharmaceuticalization trends.
