Johanna Rylner Kjellgren is a Lecturer in the Department of Swedish at Linnaeus University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities. She completed her doctoral degree in Swedish language with a focus on multilingualism at Linnaeus University in 2025.

Johanna's research focuses on language education, multilingualism, and writing practices, particularly examining how multilingual upper secondary students engage with writing in Swedish. Her work incorporates socio-material perspectives and dialogic approaches to understand translingual writing practices in Swedish as a second language. She is a member of the Center for Educational Linguistics research group, which brings together researchers in linguistics and language didactics with strong connections to teacher training.
Her doctoral thesis represents a significant contribution to understanding multilingual students' writing practices in Swedish educational contexts, exploring how students utilize linguistic resources and engage in meaning-making processes.
Her scholarly work is recognized through her doctoral thesis publication with Linnaeus University Press.
Johanna teaches various courses including Reading, writing and learning in a second language (7.5 credits), Scientific method (7.5 credits), Independent work (15 credits), and Teaching in after-school centers A - language, communication and aesthetic forms of expression (10 credits).
