Johanna Maria Beilenhoff

Johanna Maria Beilenhoff serves as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Private International and Comparative Law within the Faculty of Law at the University of Bonn, a position held since October 2023 under the Chair of Prof. Dr. Susanne Lilian Gössl, LL.M. (Tulane).

Her academic foundation includes:

• First Legal Examination from the University of Bonn (July 2023) with a specialized focus on Private International Law and Comparative Law
• Law studies conducted at the University of Bonn (October 2017–July 2023)
• Prior role as Student Assistant at the Institute for German and International Civil Procedure Law (November 2017–September 2023)

Her research critically examines jurisdictional conflicts and legal frameworks in cross-border disputes, particularly concerning cultural heritage restitution and the intersection of procedural mechanisms with comparative legal systems. This work addresses urgent challenges in art repatriation cases and harmonization of private international law standards across jurisdictions.
