Johanna Hase is a Research Fellow at the Project Group 'International Citizenship Law' and an affiliate PhD student at the Berlin Graduate School for Global and Transregional Studies (Humboldt University of Berlin). Her work focuses on citizenship narratives, global migration, and integration dynamics across political communities. She holds a BA in European Studies (Otto-von-Guericke-University, Magdeburg), dual MA degrees in Sociology (Université de Liège) and Immigration Management (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), and has completed ERASMUS exchanges and professional internships in Prague and Brussels.
Her research explores how migration influences citizenship narratives and institutional frameworks, supported by the European Research Council (ERC) project on Constitutional Identity and Global Migration (2017-2022) under Prof. Liav Orgad. She has held roles including Trainee at the EU's Directorate-General for Migration (2019-2020) and internships at the German Embassy in Prague. Awards include the Cusanuswerk Scholarship (2013–2017).
Key publications analyze citizenship discourse evolution, pandemic narratives (#WirVsVirus), and urban vs. national citizenship tensions. Her work bridges political theory, migration studies, and institutional analysis, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with globalization's socio-political impacts.
