Johan Verhoeven is a Professor in Experimental Phonetics at the Department of Language and Communication Science, City St George's, University of London. He has been affiliated with the university since 2006 and specializes in speech production, acoustic phonetics, and the phonetic description of motor speech disorders, particularly focusing on Foreign Accent Syndrome, Dysarthria, and Apraxia of Speech. Over his career, he has held academic positions at the University of Edinburgh, University of Oxford, Aarhus University, Hasselt University, and the University of Antwerp.
